Refurbishment of the Mors  racing car

One of three 13 litre racing cars built for the French G.P. held in Dieppe on July 7th, 1908. One lap of the circuit = 47.74 miles, net racing distance 477.4 miles. This is the only surviving example.
This gearbox is from the car driven by Jenatzy who finished in 16th place after driving for 8 hours and 25 minutes at an average speed of 56.8 mph over incredibly rough roads. The winning Mercedes averaged 69 mph.

Chain drive, with a final gear ratio giving 64 mph / 1000rpm.
