JOB DESCRIPTION

INSPECTOR

GENERAL

(a) Be completely familiar with all aspects of the two part Quality Manual and the Company’s Quality Management System

(b) Total involvement in the Company's policy of “Customer Care”.

(c) Work as part of a team to achieve company objectives.

(d) Adhere to Company's Health and Safety rules and regulations. This includes reading Risk Assessments and procedures applicable to your job function.

(e) Understand principles of our commitment to “Investors in People”.

(f) Adopt a philosophy of continuous improvement in fulfilling your Training Programme.

(g) Be familiar with the Company’s “Market” as detailed in Staff Handbook.

(h) Perform any reasonable tasks requested in order to satisfy client needs. This includes overtime working and assisting in other roles to cover for holidays, absence etc.

(i) Be familiar with all other aspects of involvement as detailed on the staff CD

SPECIFICS

1. Rigid maintenance of calibrated equipment through the Company's System of Control.

2. Achieve strict control of all inspection aspects as detailed in relevant sections of quality manual.

3. Appreciation of appropriate British Standards: - ISO9001/BS308/BS436/BS5781 etc.

4. Knowledge of relevant machine shop disciplines Turning/Milling/Gear Cutting etc.

5. Close liaison with management to achieve delivery times and advice on actual and potential problems.

6. Maintain a consistent level of objectivity and fairness when inspecting work.

7. Assist in maintaining company quality records.      

8. Report to management any unsuitable practice or trend which would lead to non- compliance.

9. Assist in efficient performance of audits.

10. Assist all staff in ensuring that inspections are timely and that “Hold-Ups” are kept to a minimum.

11. Assist in compiling pre-production data from samples etc.

12. Broaden knowledge of our products and gear technology.
