JOB DESCRIPTION

GEAR CUTTER


GENERAL

(a) Be completely familiar with all aspects of the two part Quality Manual and the Company’s Quality Management System

(b) Total involvement in the Company's policy of “Customer Care”.

(c) Work as part of a team to achieve company objectives.

(d) Adhere to Company's Health and Safety rules and regulations. This includes reading Risk Assessments and procedures applicable to your job function.

(e) Understand principles of our commitment to “Investors in People”.

(f) Adopt a philosophy of continuous improvement in fulfilling your Training Programme.

(g) Be familiar with the Company’s “Market” as detailed in Staff Handbook.

(h) Perform any reasonable tasks requested in order to satisfy client needs. This includes overtime working and assisting in other roles to cover for holidays, absence etc.

(i) Be familiar with all other aspects of involvement as detailed on the staff CD

SPECIFICS

1. Setting and operating Gear Shapers for Spurs/Sprockets/Special Forms.

2. Setting and operating Gear Hobbers for Spurs/Sprockets/Helicals/Wormwheels.

3. Setting and operating Bevel Cutting machines for Straight Tooth Bevels.

4. Setting and operating Gear Planers for Spurs/Helicals/Sprockets.

5. Setting and operating Rack Shapers for Cutting Racks.

6. Setting and operating Thread/Spline millers for worms/screws/splines/special forms

7. Inspecting gears by Chordal Thickness/Measurement over Rollers/Base Tangent and Roll Test on Parkson machine. Involute checks and "Maag" machine.
